On the morning of January 9, 2020, the opening ceremony of Panzhihua–Kunming bullet train, an expansion revamping project of Chengdu–Kunming Railway, was held at the hub concourse of the Panzhihua South Railway Station, a project undertaken by MCC19. This ceremony saw the first Fuxing (Rejuvenation) train D793 depart from the station, marking that Panzhihua has ushered in the “bullet train era”.

　　Panzhihua South Railway Station is a large-scale modern integrated transport complex that incorporates a wide range of functions, such as passenger rail transport, highway passenger transport, public transport, taxi, and public parking. As a transport hub that connects Chengdu and Kunming, the Station can facilitate economic transition and structural restructuring of the city and help Panzhihua step up the pace to establish itself as a capital of vanadium and titanium, sunny flower city and health tourism destination, as well as a bridgehead of Sichuan’s southward opening up. As a result, this project received wide attention from all walks of life. MCC19 undertook the construction of roads, transport hub and flood drainage facilities in front of the Station and greening and landscaping. Specifically, the transport hub has a gross floor area of 44,000m2; the roads in front of the Station have a total length of about 7.5km; and flood drainage facilities have a total length of 4,135m. These works effectively addressed the organization of surrounding traffic, enhanced the city’s transport operation capacity and ensured that the Station opened to traffic as scheduled.
